Hebrews 4/12: For the Word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The two prophetic beasts

The studious person, of the final times, will find in the XIII chapter of the book of Revelation or Apocalypse, that when the time comes, two personages will arise that have been, milleniums beforehand, previously identified, mentioned and defined. Chapter XIII mentions the rise or advent of two prophetic beasts, Revelation 13:1-2: "...and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority."

Revelation 13:11-12 "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed."

But who are these beasts? And, why are they two? The fact that they are two, has as a background, that the same as Jesus the Messiah was preceded by John the Baptist, to prepare way, only that when the moment arrived John the Baptist had to fade and the Messiah to shine, in other words appearing one, the other had to disappear; the same in the final times, there will be two that will come, only that unlike Jesus the Messiah and John the Baptist, they will work and be together, by one side we will have a beast that will rule the world, that will sit in the throne of the dragon, and that dragon has already been identified very clearly as Satan, as it is revealed in Revelation 12:9 "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him"; and in the other side, there will be a second beast, who has as a mission, first, to prepare the world for the advent of the first beast, and secondly, that when he appears, the world receives, believes and worship him.

So as it can be appreciated, the Book of Revelation does not talk about any "antichrist", but of two prophetic beasts, that when the moment comes they will occupy their place in history...
